Forest Therapy for Neurodivergent Women

Forest Therapy for Neurodivergent Women

If you're an autistic woman, have ADHD, or are AuDHD, you know what it's like to navigate a world that wasn't designed for how your brain works. The sensory overwhelm, the masking, the exhaustion of trying to fit into neurotypical expectations – it's a lot.

The forest offers something different. A space where you can unmask, where stimming is welcome, where there's no 'right' way to be.

Why Forest Therapy for Neurodivergent Women?

Nature doesn't demand that you be anything other than yourself. There's no social performance required, no small talk, no fluorescent lights or overwhelming noise. Just the gentle, regulating presence of the natural world.

For many neurodivergent women, time in nature provides:

  • Sensory regulation and nervous system calming
  • Relief from social demands and masking
  • Space for authentic self-expression
  • Reduced anxiety and overwhelm
  • Connection without pressure
  • Permission to move, stim, or be still as you need

Led with Understanding

I bring lived experience to this work. I understand the neurodivergent experience from the inside, and these sessions are designed with that understanding at their heart.

What this means in practice:

  • Clear, predictable structure with flexibility when needed
  • No forced eye contact or uncomfortable social expectations
  • Sensory considerations built into every session
  • Permission to participate in whatever way feels right for you
  • Understanding of shutdown, meltdown, and the need for space
  • Acceptance of stimming, special interests, and authentic expression
  • Small group sizes to prevent overwhelm

A Different Kind of Connection

These sessions offer connection – with nature, with yourself, and optionally with other neurodivergent women who understand your experience. But it's connection on your terms, without the exhausting demands of neurotypical social interaction.

What to Expect

Sessions are gently structured but flexible. We move slowly through the forest with invitations to notice, sense, and be present. You're always in control of your own experience – you can engage deeply or simply be present in whatever way feels right.

There's no performance, no 'doing it right', no pressure. Just space to be yourself in nature.
